Question Hard disk problem.


Hello, all am tried install fedora core1 on my system but when I got to partition portion am unable to partition my hard disk, I tried authomatic and manual but all the same.
The error is that the fedora core can not partion this hardhard and it brought option of retry and cancell whenever I click any of the option the system will be reboot and start all over again. I have tried all I could do to it but I could scape through that junction. Please I need someone to help me out, I we be highly appreciate. Thanks.

We need to know what hardware you have.

Also why Fedora Core 1? Fedora Core 7 is now fairly popular.

Post reply harddisk type.

Shivkiyei, Thanks your quick response to my challenge, the harddisk is 10GB
on the issue of fedora core 7 am presently using core5 and I have fedora core 7 which I have not you I just want to do somethings on the core 1.

Shivkiyei have you use fedora core 7 if yes how it hope there no much debug there, pls if you have use it brief me a little bit about it and how it work. thank I really appreciate you effort.

If you are using Fedora Core 5, then you can continue to do so. If you still want to upgrade to FC7, then there should not be much of a problem there either. I have worked on computers with FC7 and they seem just fine.

However, since you mention a 10 GB harddisk, what kind of computer do you have (Pentium 4, AMD etc). Also, do you intend to have Fedora Core 5 and Fedora Core 1 in two different partitions? With only 10 GB harddisk, it may be advisable to have only one operating system.

shivkiyer Thanks, not that i want to install fedora corew 5 & 1 on a system with 10GB and beside my system with fedora core 5 is p4 and the one I want to installed fedora core 1 on is p3, but I have discover that is the harddisk that is bad, but now I have tried to installed windows xp on is it brought the same error at the partition sport. But now I had installed fedora core 7 on my new p4 system in which I have started using it. and am still have my fedora core5 on my formal system. Thanks I really appreciate your effort.
