hanging USB port on dell laptop docking station
I'm running RH9 on a dell laptop on a docking station that provides 2 usb ports. I have a mouse on 1 and an HP 2400 series printer/scanner on the other. Every time I reboot, I have to either reconfigure my printer via http://localhost:631/admin(since my printer configuration tool doesn't seem to see it now though it did at one time) and/or swap the usb connections since I am told by the above admin tool that the USB port is busy. Wil try again in 30 seconds... Is there some command that will kill activity at the port or somehow free them? Can I put this in some startup or shutdown script so it does it automatically? Thanks.:Pengy:
Addendum: I just rebooted and, per usual, the printer said the USB port was busy. But instead of swapping the connects, I simply unplugged the printer and plugged it back in and it worked, sooooo...Here are the errors that showed up in terminal on bootup(presumably):
ptal-mlcd: ERROR at ExMgr.cpp:3209, dev=<mlcd:usb: psc_2400_series@/dev/usb/lp0>, pid=4537, e=11, t=1069309899, llioSubprocess: llioRead returns=-1, expected=6!

Any ideas??? :Pengy:
How can I make cups start before the hpoj(scanner) starts?
