GreenAsia gamepad

Has anyone gotten the "GreenAsia Inc. USB Joystick" gamepad to work? I plug it in and this is printed to /var/log/messages:

Code:
May 10 10:43:52 l0s2 kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:02.0-1, assigned address 2
May 10 10:43:52 l0s2 kernel: input: USB HID v1.10 Joystick [GreenAsia Inc. USB Joystick ] on usb1:2.0
However, in a NES emulator it will not register any button presses or anything. Can anyone give me a hand?

I have one of these. I never got it to be useful either. The problem, as far as I could determine, is that the board inside of it tells the driver that it has a lot more buttons than it actually has (some kind of cheapo one-size-fits-all manufacturing). The games assume those "extra" buttons really exist, and map functions to them. If your emulator can change the button mapping, you might be in luck anyway.

I just went to the local gaming store and bought a Logitech Dual Action for $20. No problems with that one at all.

I changed the button mappings on my emulator and it seems to work fine. It's not the best but the thing isn't mine so I think I'll live.
