Graphics is very SLOW on Trident Cyber 9525DVD

I know that this graphics chip is old, but it has AGP.

And I have this problem: the graphics is very-very SLOW. It is very hard to write texts or surf the net: when I press PageUp or PageDown key all the text is appearing slowly in 0.5 seconds.

Also, when I listening to music, and I moving some window or popupping some menu, the music stops until I stop moving window. This is due to slow graphics?

The OpenGL screensavers are very slow: they draw one frame in 2 seconds. But 4 years ago I played HalfLife game on this machine without any troubles (under Win98)!

Can you help me to turn on the hardware acceleration on my graphics card under linux?
