Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Question Graphics Card Suggestions

Hi,

Could you suggest a graphics card for RedHat9 that would also work with XP? Something that you have experience of working with games like Americas Army, etc.

I'm not going to tell you which specific video card you should buy.

The following url might interrest you:

http://www.xfree86.org/support.html

Information about supprted (video) chipsets for XFree (you are probably going to run KDE, Gnome or whatever windowmanager) etc etc.

Most (all??) of these will work with M$.

My guess would be any graphic card made with Nvidi chipset.
At least i've had no problems with them so far. I'm not on RedHat though.

I'm running on nvidia (twice. suse/lfs), sis (once. lfs) and mga (once. suse).
None of those gave me any trouble on my linux boxes although Suse did with the nvidia chipsets. Had to make my XF86Config by hand.
