graphics card issue, fedora core 7

Hello, i'm running Fedora Core 7 on an asus p4sgx-mx motherboard, with the onboard SiS 650GX graphics. I know that my card can support 1024x768 resolution, as thats what it was set to on Ubuntu 7.04. When i use the Gnome display settings, it gives me 2 choices for screen resolution.. 640x480 and 800x600. Under the Hardware Settings tab, it says "Video Card: Silicon Integrated Systems [SIS] 65x/M650/740 PCI/AGP VGA Display Adapter". I am using a Korean Data Systems vs7i monitor, it says Monitor Type (autoconfigured). How can i fix my display settings so that i can go to the 1024x768 resolution? My Nvidia Geforce 2 mx400 card will not work with FC7.. so i'm using the onboard device. I'm a new linux user as well!

Edit: Display Issue fixed.. i changed to generic 1024x768 monitor, now i feel like an idiot lol

Glad you got it fixed. A lot of times when something like that happens you have to edit the xorg.conf by hand. You should try slackware there's no hand holding in that distro. Once you learn it, if something goes wrong you'll know exactly where to goto to fix it. There's always these forums to help you.
