Question graphics card and display

i just installed my Linux Suse 9.0, and the install was really quick and easy. however there seems to be a few issues.

first, i have an ati radion 9700 Pro video card and i have 2 monitors hooked up to it. now i am getting an error on my other screen that says:

> Out of Range
> Hf: 30 KHz - 70 KHz
> Vf: 50 Hz - 75 Hz

> Current

> Hf: 84.9 KHz Vf: 104 Hz

how can i fix this on my 2nd monitor?

My even bigger question is how can i get the 3D\ OpenGL acceleration to work with this card, when i try to activate it it says that the card cannot use the 3D\Open GL acceleration.

this is a radeon 9700 so i would think that it would be able to support the 3d acceleration in linux.

anyone with any ideas please let me know.

With your ATI Radeon 9700 you can have hardware 3D.

You'll have to download a driver form (it is the last opportunity there, for XFree 4.3)
and to install it. For asking how to do that, look under There is a nice howto.

For some reason does the kernel 2.4.21 which is inside of suse 9.0 (i had it before), not support some chipsets. If you have an nforce2 or via kt400 or kt600, you can forget it. then you need to compile a new kernel (at least 2.4.pre8). VERY DIFFICULT! I have not finished it how to...
