Goodix touchscreen drivers on Chuwi Hi12 Tablet w/ Linux Mint Mate 18 issues

I was referred to this forum to find assistance with an issue I am having with a Chuwi Hi12 tablet with Linux Mint Mate 18 on it. I am trying to get the goodix touchscreen working and running into issues with goodix drivers.

Here is what I have so far.

Code:

sudo apt-get install build-essential linux-headers-generic git   (skip this if you have already done it)
     git clone https://github.com/hadess/gt9xx.git
     cd gt9xx
     make
     sudo make install
     sudo depmod -a
     sudo modprobe goodix_backport

Got this error on the last step...

Destry, probably if you are using the 4.4 kernel you have to blacklist the goodix driver before you can build/install the goodix_backport driver. Go to your Hi12 thread on the LinuxMint forum and search it for "blacklist". There I describe how to do it and building the backport driver.
