After doing some more research, I found that the write-combining does not really matter, at least not when it comes to running glxgears.
I set the LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose variable, then typed in glxinfo, and came up with this:

I found a copy of a "drirc" file on the dri sourceforge page:

Also, when I type in xdriinfo, I get an error that states, "libGL is too old."
I know that OpenGL drivers are card-specific, but am having difficulty finding updated linux drivers for my Radeon Mobility 7500.
Anybody know where I can find these drivers?
