Getting Ubuntu to notice monitor connected through DVI

Keywords might be xrandr or xinerama... but I never tried them out.
You could try as well with a livecd of another distribution - e.g. knoppix.

Hi Pearlseattle,

I had a similar concern as baldurpet (wanted to connect two monitors on VGA & DVI outputs on Ubuntu) and using your xorg.conf as guidance I got it working just fine. So, thanks for your help.
Can't believe you posted this just a few weeks ago. Google & the Internet rocks.
