getting this modem to work under linux?

I am using this modem which has both ethernet and usb.I used ethernet successfully.But,I don't know how to use usb.The modem is identified as Globespan modem The modem is BSNL broadband modem(wired) model no VANI1020-20
I am using debian 6

Maybe you need a driver?

Here is a start

Sorry I can't give more information, and it might be out of date. But you may need to install a driver to get it working over USB.

No driver for kernel 2.6

I think the driver provided in the cd which came with the modem is for 2.4 linux kernel.Anyway Ethernet is better than usb.I am using ethernet.
