Getting Pivelview TV card to work

Hi Guys
I feel sort of a dummy cause Ive had this card working before but I cannot remember the steps to get it going Im useing Xawtv as the viewer ive logged in as root then ran modprobe -r bttv , modprobe bttv card=16 radio=1 tuner=28 : then ran xwatv for just a blank screen. ive tried a few other card types (all the pixelview ones listed) . Am I missing any steps?
Thanks
Mark
OK UPDATE
I searched my old posts seems 3 years back i had a similar problem the card should be 72 but that wasn't stopping it working ! the problem was I had plugged the card into the wrong slot, 2 spare slots , when plugged into the first slot it had conflicts with the graphics card. Moved the card and changed the card to 72 and all works well YEY !
Thanks again
Cheers
Mark

Other option...

Hi flyereddie,
I see you got it fixed on your own.. good deal. I also noticed your question had quite a few views. Perhaps many views were to come help you, as I was going to do, but perhaps many were shy people that have TV cards they can't get working. I have an old AverTV card in my Ubuntu Box and it was a snap to get working with "TVtime Television Viewer", which is listed in the Synaptic Package Manager. I used the same program on my daughter's Ubuntu box to work with the Hauppauge TV card I gave her. I'm pretty sure they use variations of the same chip set though.
