Get a laptop

Does anyone know any good laptops, that really compatible with linux.

I want to install Xandros 3 OCE on a laptop, but not have to find a lot of drivers to make it work.

The only things that are required are:
Cheap
Runs linux good

This question has been asked before ... many many times.
- try looking in the HCL (Hardware Compatability List) from the link in the banner (top of this page).

The HCL does have a lot of good information....

In my mind there is basically one simple rule for laptops right now....

Get something with the ipw2200 wireless card (aka "Centrino" technology). Far to many of the other laptops use those broadcom chipsets for the built in wireless which don't work very well under linux.

I'd agree with jtshaw, and I'd recommend an IBM Thinkpad. They are somewhat more expensive than others but they're worth every penny, in my opinion. Good luck with it -- J.W.
