Geode Processor kernel support


I have a query related to the NS-Geode 300Mhz processor(my thinclient processor).Which kernel version is suitable/support this processor.I came to know that only kernel version 2.4.26 support this architecture is that true or is there any other kernel version which support this architecture??

All kernels compiled with i586 support will work.

Thanks for your information!

I am trying to create a thinclient image using PXES druid where it has the options of two kernels.one is 2.4.32 and 2.6 version of i586 architecture.I have also created an image using this utility which is a squash compressed image file(initrd).I have also enabled squash support in my kernel can you pls tell me what are the other requisite that has to be combined with this to make it as a complete compact desktop OS.I am trying to boot this OS from my thinclient 32MB CF card.
