Gentoo AMD64 32Bit Emulation

Hey Dudes,

i've got an AMD Athlohn64 3200+ Venice Processor on a nForce3 board.

I'm using the actual gentoo-sources (linux-2.6.17-gentoo-r4).

I want to enable 32bit emulation on my system. In the tutorial i've read, that i have to enable the following kernel options

Executable file formats / Emulations[*] IA32 Emulation[*] IA32 a.out support

and emerge these packages:

emerge app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-baselibs
emerge app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-xlibs
emerge app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-gtklibs
emerge app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-qtlibs

---
I've installed the packages, but there is a problem with the kernel options. My kernel hasn't got these options?! I am unable to found it..

what should i do to unlock these kernel options?

They will appear if a 64bit CPU is selected in the Processors section. If they aren't there then you may have been running a 32bit kernel all along. I'm pretty sure that is the case although I didn't go check so if I could easily be wrong.

the useflags and the kernel (processor setup) are configurated as athlon64.

it compiles all programs for 64bit...

it's definitely a 64bit kernel!
