geforce 6800 not listed in sax2

Hi. It looks like lots of people are having trouble with the 6800. I have tried everything I have found on every website I can find and still no luck but I am only a noob to linux

Ive got Suse 9.1 Pro and everything is up to date and patched.
Had a problem with the rivafb bit in kernel but fixed that and the module loads by using modprobe and shows up when i do lsmod as first item. I dont get any error messages or anything and I have tried both the 6106 and 6629 drivers from nVidia website and didnt get any error messages after I recompiled the kernel to get rid of the rivafb problem.
Trouble is I just dont get the option to pick the 6800 in sax2.

Kernel 2.6.5-7.111.30

/sbin/lspci:

0000:00:12.0 Ethernet controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT6102 [Rhine-II] (rev 78)
0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation: Unknown device 0045 (rev a1)

It worked perfectly in WinXp and the Vesa Frambuffer driver seems to work ok but I wanna get it sorted.

Its an AGP card, via chipset and Athlon XP 2400+ 32bit.
Any help much appreciated.

The 6600GT doesn't work I think (*not yet* that is). This might apply to the 6800 also, I am not sure.

What is the error message that pops up when you try to install the driver? Usually Xserver fails to load if you have some type of driver/configuration conflict.

Hmm, yes, that one is beyond me. I really hate it when there is no errors and something doesn't work.

Unfortunately, I don't have enough experience with Sax2 to even begin to help you.

no worries thanks for trying though. Atleast if it gave me an error I would know where to start but as Im only new I got no chance really.
All the how to's that Ive read all just say that the last step is just to configure in sax2 but I cant see how to configure. It lists most other cards (doesnt list the 6600 series either) and there isnt even a nvidia generic one to use. The latest set of drivers from the nvidia website say they support both the 6600 and 6800 but I have tried the latedt and also the first ones that say they support the 6800.
