GEARS score with RADEON 9800
Can anyone tell me if this is normal?
My scores are the following: 360 frames in 5.001 seconds = 71.986 FPS 363 frames in 5.010 seconds = 72.455 FPS 362 frames in 5.002 seconds = 72.371 FPS 359 frames in 5.010 seconds = 71.657 FPS 364 frames in 5.010 seconds = 72.655 FPS 328 frames in 5.002 seconds = 65.574 FPS 306 frames in 5.008 seconds = 61.102 FPS 351 frames in 5.003 seconds = 70.158 FPS Isn't that a little slow? What's your score? B0mbtruck |
It looks like you are using software 3D rendering.
If you have Mandrake 9.1 or Redhat 9. Downgrade to X86Free 4.2.1 and use ATI drivers. If you don't want to do that you can try Gatos packages. |
I reach 12000 frames in 5 sec with my Nvidia GeForce3 ti 200

Type glxinfo and it will show you what is going on.

:)))
I have something about 1200 whith a radeon 8500
|
Nearly 500 with a radeon 7000, @ 1024x768 16bpp. With 24 bpp, something like 280.
But aren't nvidia drivers closed source? |

I get more than 12000 FPS on my Radeon 8500 using the fglrx drivers from ATI. I can get more detailed numbers later if anyone is interrested. BTW: I use XFree86 4.3 on a Debian sid system.

I admire all you guys as you got your video cards to work.

Are these scores based on running glxgears in maximized, full-screen mode, or in a much smaller, say, 2" by 2" window? The smaller the window, the higher the score, and in order to compare apples to apples I would think these numbers would only have meaning if they reflected full-screen mode. FWIW, the highest rate I've been able to get in full-screen mode is about 1400, on an ATI board, which seems pretty anemic compared to these other scores. -- J.W.
