fstab

This is the line regarding mounting the windows partition in the fstab of my Suse Linux:
/dev/hda1 /windows/C ntfs ro,exec,users,gid=users,umask=0002,nls=utf8 0 0
Basically my problem is that the partition is mounted with the noexec option even though I have added an exec option to the conf line.

No. It means you can't write successfully to NTFS from Linux. If you try to execute a .exe from Linux, you'll most likely be launching Wine to do it. I'm not sure if SuSE comes with Wine already installed. If not, you can add it in pretty easily.
