Hi everybody I have this new pc that gives me a few problem...my specifics:
foxconn P9657AA motherboard
core 2 Duo prcessor
asustek GeForce 7600GS video
I use to run opensuse on my pc so I tried to install the 10.2.
I had a few problems, but after loading 2 kernel modules (jmicron and ide-generic) because of the famous "no cd detection problem" my installation ended successfully...and that's when troubles begun...
First I had "out of frequency" error message on my screen: I run in failsafe, install video card driver and I thought that was it. But after that the system randomly freezes...without any (apparent) connenction with program or load on system (one time it freezes at login!).
I decided to patch the kernel but during the installation it freezes ad my system died! So now I've installed sidux (only because it has the latest stable kernel and I read that it has better pata-sata support) and running live it still gave me "out of frequency" error message..after install on HD no frequency error was showed
....now it seems to be stable but a few minutes ago I pull out my ethernet cable and it freezes!
ahahahaha
all this long story to ask: how the hell can I detect the problem? is there a test the I can load on the system? Does anybody experienced something like that?
thanx
ciao
