FM Tuner On Linux?

Does anybody know of a cheap/small USB FM Tuner? I've looked at a few, but nowhere can I get any confirmation that they will work on Fedora? Does anyone have Fedora and a USB FM Tuner working on it?

My goal: I want to stream an FM Signal to a web site using Darwin Streaming Server.

A few products that caught my eye, but that I have no idea of whether or not they'll work on Fedora:
- Radio Shark 2
- Asus MyCinema U3000H USB TV Tuner, DVB-T+analogue, with FM radio

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've connected an old stereo AM/FM receiver through the "line in" on my soundcard and been able to record/transmit it using several distros of Linux.

Hi -

If you've got a reasonably current version of Fedora (11 or 12), it should work just fine.

If you're in the United States: BEWARE. Listening to FM radio over a USB device on your PC is fine. Streaming it over a web server could easily get you in trouble.

I also suggest an FM receiver because you are going to have a hard time finding a USB device that works in Linux. Sure you can use VMware and then access the USB device, but that defeats the purpose. There are some FM receivers that can be controlled through serial or USB ports, so all you need to do is send codes to the receiver to tune into stations.

Actually it is illegal anywhere to send FM stations through the Internet because of copyright laws. US copyright laws is global even though your country does not comply to them. You have to get permission from both the artist and the station to do it if you do not want to get sued.

Read carefully, STREAMING. Streaming and broadcasting are the same when dealing with copyright data. If you do not have permission to broadcast or stream copyright data, you are screwed.

FYI, this is not your thread, so do not hijack it.

FM tuner dongle?

So, can we get back to the topic? Try http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc..._FM_Music.html. However, I haven't been able to get Gnomeradio to run my Hauppauge TV/FM tuner dongle (it works on TV). There's a Gnomeradio bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...io/+bug/422696) but some folks say it works now.
