FGL not working on Radeon 9600
 

I have tried both the standard ATI drivers and the Shnieder fglrx drivers on my Mandrake 9.1 system, and I cant get 3d acceleration working with either.

fglrxinfo gives...

OpenGL vendor string: Mesa project: www mesa3d org
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect
OpenGL version string: 1.3 Mesa 4.0.4

Shouldn't is say ATI something....

glxgears gives around 200FPS, which is shite for this card. (3d accel obviously not working)

the rpm seems to install fine. and i use driver "fglrx" in my XF86Config. (i also have "glx" and "dri" modules loaded)

any ideas?
