Welcome to LQ! Can you provide more details? Are there any common threads that consistenly appear before the machine dies? Does it seem to die after a fixed amount of time, or after peforming a specific action? If not, and this is a brand new machine that just dies for no apparent reason, then I'd call Dell and put in a service call. Maybe the power supply is defective, or there is some other malfunction. -- J.W.

yes. it really just die without any apparent reason.

one time, i try to install the j2sdk on it. after i invoke the installer, it just die.

another time, after it's up for some hours. i logger in remotely, and invoke an ant build command, it die again.
