Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Fedora Core 3 Lexar Jumpdrive Automount Help

I can manually mount my Lexar Jumpdrive on /dev/sda1.
I want it to automount as soon as it's plugged in.
Before a recent reinstall, I had done something to make this happen, but I can't remember what it was (doh!). Here are the fuzy details - if anyone can point me in the right direction I would GREATLY appreciate it.
I remember having to edit a file that had a long list of usb and other devices divided by mount point or some such. Basically, I had to add the name that my jump drive calls itself (JUMPDRIVE, according to dmesg ... but I cn mess around there if I can find the right file).
Googling resulted in lots of info on the /etc/updfstab.conf.default file, which sounded like what I wanted. However, it appears that this is no longer used in FC3, so that "can't" be the answer (my previous install was also on FC3).
I also found some info on fstab-sync and hal, and looked around at their files, but didn't see anything like what I edited last time to make it work. Hotplug sounds familiar?
Anyone know what I'm missing here?

It used to be mounted as /media/LEXAR_MEDIA if that helps?
