Fedora / Conexant USB Access Runner Configuration

I have just installed Fedora Core one on my machine and the install was ok but I have a couple of questions.

1. I use a connexant usb adsl access runner modem with the ppoa protocol. I cannot get it to work so I can't get on the internet through fedora can anybody help please?.

2. The Linux machine has a network card and is connected to another machine running WinXP. If I use the USB modem to go online on the Win XP machine everything works fine and I can go online on Fedora alos but I want to use Fedora as a Server but it won't recognise the WinXP machine. What can I do to fix these problems? Thanks
