Fedora 8 x86_64 freezes with ACPI enabled
Hi,
There is a issue when I try to run Fedora 8 x86_64 with ACPI enabled. It works for some time, but freezes when the PC is idle for some time. It works fine when I boot the system with acpi disabled (acpi=off kernel argument). I have the following in /proc/cpuinfo: processor : 0 vendor_id : AuthenticAMD cpu family : 15 model : 95 model name : AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 3200+ stepping : 2 cpu MHz : 1808.352 cache size : 128 KB fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 1 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush mmx fxsr sse sse2 syscall nx mmxext fxsr_opt rdtscp lm 3dnowext 3dnow up rep_good pni cx16 lahf_lm extapic cr8_legacy bogomips : 3619.01 TLB size : 1024 4K pages clflush size : 64 cache_alignment : 64 address sizes : 40 bits physical, 48 bits virtual power management: ts fid vid ttp tm stc uname -r: 2.6.24 It didn't work with 'acpi=restrict' kernel argument as well. |
Is there any info in the logs with errors?
Is this a notebook? If so make and model. Brian |

I tried to find any error message, checking the gnome-system-log app, but I didn't find anything related. Did I mention my MB has a NVIDIA nFORCE chipset ? |
