fedora 3


I have fedora 3 installed as a workstation on a gateway CPU. I have a Ensoniq AudioPCI ES1371 which is a creative soundblaster pci 16bit soundcard. When I try to detect it and test for soudn there is no output does anyone know where to get the proper drivers help please!! thanks in advance.

Dude 1st get kernel-modules alsa rpm for ur Kernel version- find it by uname -r.
then goto atrpms.net or rpms.livna.org or any get all alsa rpms -alsa driver,alsa-lib,alsa-utils,libasound etc.dont forget this kernel-modules alsa rpm.after installed all,try in command line:#alsaconf it will configure the card.oh please unmute the volume control also.

My kernel version is 2.6.9-1.667 and the update packages dont have this one. so what now?? update the kernel how? thanks for your help

how to run

how do you run the updates for the alsa drivers when I get them? I already updated the Kernel to latest.

If u want to get audio u get a kernel version as same as the alsa-kernel-module version.for u may be a 2.6.10.xyz kernel and
kernel-module-alsa-2.6.10.xyz.
otherwise anytime u can recompile the kernel for audio support
updating alsa like rpm -Uvh package.rpm
