I have a problem with my cdrom and dvd ide drives. The thing is that when I turn on the computer, I can put in cds or dvds in respectively drives and I can read it and work with it. But for about a few minutes, when I try to read an other cd or dvd, the cdrom or dvd drives are halted and I cannot have acces to them.

My system es a Fedora 10, 2.6.27.41-170.2.117.fc10.i686 kernel and I have that problem since I have installed Fedora 10 on my PC computer.

I don't think that the drives are damaged or something like that, because when I have used to install Fedora from scratch their work perfectly.

The drives appear on bios like:

Primary MAster: HL-DT-STDVD-RAM
Secondary Slave: HL-DT-ST GCE-852

Bouth are a LG drives.

How are they setup in /etc/fstab?
Are you using the same program to mount both?

also you do know that fedora 10 is PAST it's End Of Life
and is NO longer supported .
there will NEVER be any security updates - or any updates .

Please install a SUPPORTED version
Fedora 12 is the current
