Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

fc6 Geforce2MX.How to enable 3d effects

Hi,I'm using fedora core 6.My videocard is 2MX.Does my hardware support 3d desktop effects?
If I click system->preferences->Desktop Effects ,it will return an error:
Code:
Desktop effects could not be be enabled
If I try the command:#desktop-effects(both the root or the normal user)
It will return the same error:
Code:
gnome-window-decorator: Screen 0 on display ":0.0" already has a decoration manager; try using the --replace option to replace the current decoration manager.
compiz: No GLXFBConfig for default depth, this isn't going to work.
compiz: Failed to manage screen: 0
compiz: No managable screens found on display :0.0
I downloaded the latest driver from nvidia's official web site.
But it seems that it doesn't satisfy my hardware.
Is there any one have some idea? Thanks!
ps:I'm a Chinese.So please forgive my poor English.^_^

From a console, issue this command: lsmod | grep 'nv'. Do you see driver nv listed, or is driver nvidia listed. If you have driver nv, then you are still using the kernel nv driver which only gives two dimensional graphics. Modprobe nvidia will load the new driver and probe the hardware.

Then try to configure desktop effects.

Thank you.I tried #lsmod|grep 'nv',but it shows nothing.Then I tried #lsmod|less,but I couldn't find any thing about nvidia,I just found"video 21061 0",which I think most properly useful.
Then I tried #modprobe nvidia,it said "FATAL:Module nvidia not found".
What does that mean? What I should do?
ps:Sorry to reply so late, network is not available these days.Thanx again.
