extra serial port problem... (isa EXP. board)
I am trying to install an old isa serial board (a KW-509S) for attaching a dumb terminal and i think i have it jumpered correctly, statserial /dev/ttyS2 gives me proper results, but when i try to set
console=ttyS2
and run agetty on /dev/ttyS2, it gives funny characters on my terminal screen and the getty doesn't show it's prompt
uppon closer inspection, dmesg shows the following
ttyS00 at 0x03f8 (irq = 0) is a 16550A
ttyS01 at 0x02f8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A
ttyS02 at 0x03e8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A
so i know it's being detected
also, the settings are the same at both ends as i used existing settings and am simply trying to migrate the terminal to the new serial port
