external HD


I have an external HD that I would like to get it on linux to use my external hard drive for data. I am sure I have to mount it but what /dev would I use.

mount /dev/? /mnt/hd

What would that ? be?????

depends on your distribution and i suppose it's an usb drive ? it will probably be something like /dev/sda
