I have an external case/3.5" hdd combo for external storage (
case and 320 gb EIDE).
Stupidly, I'd got it configured, but couldn't, for the life of me, remember what I'd used for the username/password combination. So following the instuction book, switched it off, held down the "reset" button, switched it back on and waited the 10 seconds to reset it to the factory defaults.
It was configured as a "LAN disk" i.e. connected via ethernet. So in theory, I should be able to access it by just putting in the default IP to get the browser based login box so I can set it up again.
It won't allow me to access it and I can't recall what else I did when I got it working last time.
I've tried pinging it and get no reply (either with the IP that I set last time or the factory default one).
As it's connected via ethernet, do I have to mount it or something so that my system can "talk" to it or maybe I need to do something else ?
I could connect it via USB (not sure if it will allow me to change the ethernet/IP settings that way), but I can't recall what I need to do to make the system "talk" to it either.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can access it, at least as far as getting the login dialogue ?
Sorry if that sound a little vague, but my mind has gone completely blank as to how I do this.
regards
John
