Ext3

I want to know what are the good point updating my fs to ext3.
I know it has journalling but is that all?

Btw is it REALLY safe to update with huh... I think it's mk2xt (or something like this?) command? I have a bad cylinder problem with my hard drive and I don't really want to loose data.

It's safe. And it'd be good to have ext3 support not as module, but build into kernel. But should go without it.
