Hi. I am running SuSE 9.2 on a Toshiba Satellite A70 which has an ATI radeon 9100 IGP graphics card. I have seen a number of posts about installing fglrx drivers in addition to (or is it instead of agpgart). Before I go down that road, I'd like to understand a little bit about what the fglrx will do for me that the default drivers that installed with the system won't.

The only thing that I know for sure that does not work in my current config is simultaneous display (and switching) while in X when an external monitor is attached. Is this one of the things that fglrx will do for me?

Any other information about fglrx and agpgart you would like to share would be great too.

The other thing the fglrx drivers will give you is OpenGL support. I think they'll give you simultaneous display / switching, but I haven't tried it myself.
