Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Ethernet (eth0) slow download/upload speeds

I have a dual-boot system (Window 10 - Ubuntu 14.4) with an Ethernet NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller.
When I measure my download/upload speeds of my internet connection my Windows 10 speedtest reads 94 Mb/s download and 33Mb/s upload.
When I do the same test in Ubuntu 14.4 I get 46 Mb/s down and 31 Mb/s up.
My question: Machine and hardware being the same why this difference? What can account for this? The network controller's drivers?
Any help/suggestions how to solve this will be greatly appreciated.

Hi...

Some ideas on how to fix this can be found on this page, especially (possibly) changing the adapter to run "full duplex."

Regards...

Good, I'll ask Him if He would, too.
