eth1 cannot change it to eth0


Hi:
I have 2 ethernet cards on my PC ,mobile with eth0 and the internal with eth1,When i removed the mobile ethernet card eth0 ,eth1 did'nt changed to eth0 and remained eth1.

How can i make it change to eth0?

check /etc/modprobe.conf (man modprobe.conf)

But be warned, changing the devices alias manually means that you'll also have to revisit A LOT of config files to make sure they are modified to reference the correct device. This includes networking scripts that you use to dial your ISP, firewall rules, etc...
