Esata slower than usb using belkin 2 port expresscard (sil3132 controller)

Hi,

I have opensuse 11.2 currently installed and i am fairly new to linux.
I have attached a Belkin expresscard sata II and a external esata harddrive (samsung F3 drive in Antec MX-1 enclosure). The drive appears to be running on copying files to it at 30/mb sec maximum.

Can anyone shed any light on this??

some help much appreciated

Delmo
