This is a new system installation. I am loading Fedora Linux 3 on a old Dell Latitude Pentium 2. It loaded OK. I have a 10/100 Lan Cardbus (3CCFE575CT) PCMCIA card installed connecting directly to my router. But when it boots up I get a message during the bringing up Ethernet eth0 phase "Determining IP information Ethernet eth0 failed no link present. Check cable". I know the cable and router port are OK. I can't get to the Internet. What can I do?

Problem #2
During bootup I get a message "ACPI BIOS age 1998 fails cutoff 2001. ACPI=force is required to enable ACPI audit 1192421167.249:0 initialized."

from ur first problem it is clear that ur OS which is linux SusE does not detect ur ethernet cable plugged in there can be many possibilities....try updating ur Linux or download new drive for ur ethernet card or ur ethernet cable may be pressed down by heavy weight causing the signals to flow not properly
