Encrypted HDD, lost password, need to reconfigure

Hi I encrypted my laptop 80 gb hdd, lost the password, for the Ubuntu install, and want to reconfigure, is there a proper way?

ASUS eeepc, 10 inch.

I have done this before with a CD program, but the laptop has only USB ports

If you lost the password to the encrypted disk, assuming you don't have access to any other keys, then as far as I know you are out of luck and will have to completely reinstall the system. You can burn the ISO installer to a USB device, it works very well for me.

I believe Jacoby is correct. The only option I know of in this case is to delete the luks partition.
