Emulate USB floppy to boot from USB.. feasible?
I own an old, but still very useful laptop (Toshiba Portege 3490CT) running Kubuntu 6.06 LTS.
It can not boot from a USB stick, but only from a USB floppy or a PCMCIA CDROM (as well as from the HDD, of course).
I would like to be able to boot from a USB stick by tricking the system into believing that the USB stick is a USB floppy with a bootable USB floppy in it... is it feasible? How can it be done?
I know, perhaps it's a hard and unusual question.
If you have some pointers or an idea that might work, even if not the complete solution, please post.
Thanks.
