I try to run a serial touchscreen using the elographics Xorg driver. I modified xorg.conf as follows, with the result that the touchscreen is actually working but X hangs before even bringing up gdm! X just shows a blank screen and won't even accept Ctrl+Alt+Backspace, but Touchscreen movements working (CPU load normal).

~~snip, repeating with every touch on touchscreen~~
Same behaviour also under Debian Lenny and XUbuntu. Any ideas anybody? Documentation on the Xorg elographics driver is very poor, has anybody experience with this and serial touchscreens? Any help highly appreciated...
thank you sir! I'll give it a try. Unfortunately I made the bad mistake of trying to use the drivers from the ELO site, which didn't work but wrote calibrations to the touchscreen NVRAM, now it's calibration is way off in Etch. Useless f#@** bqubert#@. And it won't let me rewrite to the NVRAM!!!
