I've installed linux (slackware 11) on a box with a e210882 motherboard, everything works fine, but i'm having some trouble with the graphics. The board has onboard graphics (Integrated Intel Extreme Graphics controller) but using KDE, I can't seem to get it to run at anything above 600x420 and 16 bit colour. If I edit xorg.conf to run it at anything above this, KDE fails to start stating it can't find a screen.
Any idea how I can get this running at a higher screen and colour res? I know the graphics are capable of much more as when the machine used to run xp pro it was capable of running 1280x1024 at 80hz.
Any help in sorting this out would be appreciated.
I was not able to change resolutions even when listed without scanrate going haywire.
Couldn't boot headless without being stuck at lowres prompt.
Coudn't vnc with ubuntu default installed vnc above 800x600
Came up with the following modified xorg.conf.
I am new to linux so don't know which part is allowing which. I do konw the device / driver ="vesa" allows headless at 800x600. The monitor screen sections are allowing the 1024x768 headless.
I have tested on two motherboards with integrated graphics.
