DVDRAM drive not working

Hi all

I'm still having problems with my DVDRAM drive.

Basically, I'm booting with lilo. Setting append="hdc=ide-scsi" produces the following output in dmesg:
Code:
box:~# dmesg | grep hdc
Kernel command line: auto BOOT_IMAGE=Woody ro root=302 hdc=ide-scsi
ide_setup: hdc=ide-scsi
hdc: MATSHITADVD-RAM UJ-845S, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
box:~# dmesg | grep scsi
Kernel command line: auto BOOT_IMAGE=Woody ro root=302 hdc=ide-scsi
ide_setup: hdc=ide-scsi
request_module[scsi_hostadapter]: Root fs not mounted
request_module[scsi_hostadapter]: Root fs not mounted
i2o_scsi.c: Version 0.0.1
Then trying to do an eject...
Code:
box:~# eject /dev/hdc
eject: unable to open `/dev/hdc'
Setting append="hdc=scsi" produces:
Code:
box:~# dmesg | grep hdc
Kernel command line: auto BOOT_IMAGE=Woody ro root=302 hdc=scsi
ide_setup: hdc=scsi -- BAD OPTION
hdc: MATSHITADVD-RAM UJ-845S, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
hdc: ATAPI 47X DVD-ROM DVD-R-RAM CD-R/RW drive, 2048kB Cache
box:~# dmesg | grep scsi
Kernel command line: auto BOOT_IMAGE=Woody ro root=302 hdc=scsi
ide_setup: hdc=scsi -- BAD OPTION
request_module[scsi_hostadapter]: Root fs not mounted
request_module[scsi_hostadapter]: Root fs not mounted
i2o_scsi.c: Version 0.0.1
Doing an eject works as expected, but I'm not able to do anything else.

My fstab looks like this:
Code:
/dev/hda2 / reiserfs defaults 0 0
/dev/hda1 none swap sw 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/fd0 /floppy auto user,noauto 0 0
#/dev/cdrom /cdrom iso9660 ro,user,noauto 0 0
#/dev/cdrom /cdrom iso9660 user,noauto,ro,exec 0 0
#/dev/scd0 /cdrom iso9660 user,noauto 0 0
/dev/sr0 /cdrom iso9660 user,noauto 0 0
/dev/hdd1 /mnt/hdd1 reiserfs defaults,ro,user 0 0
Any ideas on how to get this working?

PHP Code:

/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 /                       ext3    defaults        1 1
LABEL
=/boot12           /boot                   ext3    defaults        1 2
/dev/devpts             /dev/pts                devpts  gid=5,mode=620  0 0
/dev/shm                /dev/shm                tmpfs   defaults        0 0
/dev/proc               /proc                   proc    defaults        0 0
/dev/sys                /sys                    sysfs   defaults        0 0
LABEL
=SWAP-hdb3         swap                    swap    defaults        0 0
/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol01 swap                    swap    defaults        0 0
/dev/hdb2        /media/hdb2        auto    defaults    1 1
/dev/fd0                /media/floppy           auto    pamconsole,exec,noauto,utf8,managed 0 0
/dev/hdc                /media/cdrecorder       auto    pamconsole,exec,noauto,managed 0 0
be sure to create the directory in the file system of what is in the second column, i'm sure you already know that.
here is my fstab, my cdrecorder is a combo recorder and will burn dvds and cds

I don't think its my fstab thats the issue. I think its more along the lines of the ide-scsi settings. When I first installed Debian, everything was working fine. I'm not sure what happened to stop it from working.

Any other ideas of how I might be able to track down the issue?
