DVD Player motherboard as card graphics

I have a dvd player motherboard which includes an ide port and audio video outputs.

I wanted to if there is a hack to connect the ide port ( or sata with convertor) to a hardware containing an embedded linux OS so as to use the dvd player motherboard as a graphics card.

Communicating via ide ports is a bad idea, as you would have i/o talking to i/o and sooner or later that would end in smoke. The software would also be a nightmare. It could probably be done technically, but is not financially practical. This is a 'save money' type hack?

Without knowing more about your dvd player motherboard, I can't say much. Why not use the audio/video from the dvd player?

Why would you want to do this? Your DVD board (if from a computer drive is a Reader Only, needs a Video card to Work)
If from a home machine-the playback Software is Proprietary and not released.
Your Time and Would be more than a cheap video card-Less than $15.00US. If you could find all the info you need the output would not be that Good--Good Luck
