DVD/CD drive trouble
 

HI!!!

My computer's DVD/Cd drive stopped working. It doesnt read any type of disc. My device manager says it is working properly but it still wont read any type of disc. I need help. One minute it was working the next it wont read. WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a newbie myself and so I'm probably not qualified to say anything about this (I've had no CD/DVD drive issues so I've not learnt abou them yet) but I noticed that your post has been looked at a few times without a reply.

If I could make a little suggestion: Ppl here tend to want/need a bit more information to answer questions, such as your distro and maybe the manufacturer/model of your DVD drive. just a suggestion. I for one have no freaking idea why your drive suddenly stopped working. the only thing i can think of is a driver issue/firmware... but that's the windows part of me talking. i'm not very good with linux hardware.

BTW: good move changing the subject from "computer trouble" to something a bit more specific.
