Yes, itīs the better Way - to replace the Kernel should be done only if you knew what to do.

2.6.37.2 ist ready for download, i will try to insert the rtl2832 in this Kernel Source.

well still the same. compile is fine. modprobe dvb-sub-rtl2832u as well. but the card does not work.
did try also this http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=355775 with same result.

moreover if the module is loaded the card is getting hot like hell. if i rmmod it it gets cooler.
no idea what is wrong maybe i have some subtype of this card. damn you genius tv to go t03 :D

Hmmm...

> damn you genius tv to go t03

My English isnīt that good  what does genius tv to go t03 mean ?

I think too - youīve got an other subversion of the Card, the Digivox II Mini is changed
Years ago - so the Problem occours by meaning it is that Chiptype of DVBT.
With dmesg as root you could see some Messages when inserting the Stick, orloading the Module.
This could bring up more Info.

A friend of mine bought 2 Sticks - used them under Windows, tryed to get them work under
Linux, failed with linux and said to me: No Chance to use them under Linux !

I said - wait...
Then i found the Modulesource and more Info - compiled and a bit of Work/Coffee and ok.
Insert the code on the System of my Friend and  ... .

My Friend gave one of the Sticks to me as a Gift - now it is used not really often.

This Stick costs about 10-15€ - it is a Cheap one - you should not waste much Time with
this Kind of Hardware, all People should buy Hardware whitch is supporting Linux - and
is supported by Linux - if it does not work all People should bring such Hardware back
to the Shop - then the Producers will not ignore Linux.
On Linux DVBT runns much faster as on Windows - including poor/old Hardware.

An last Way to get it work - stupid but possible:
Install Vi-Box on your System, then Windows in Vi-Box - and the Software for the Dongle.
So you could use it under Windows inside Linux :D

Or search the Web for this different Version

Sorry that i could not help.

Greetings Bernd ( while Morningcoffee ;-) )

genius tvgo t03 is the name of the damn product which does not work with any rtl2832u driver i have tried :)

Last Tipp:

You could try to search the Web for the Device ID of the Stick.

an lsusb as User root should bring up such Message:
( More Lines, depending of your USB Setup )

Bus 002 Device 004: ID 1d19:1101

Bus and Device could differ, try to lsusb without the dongle and second try
with the dongle, if you are not shure what deviceīs are listed.

An (Google) Search the web could deliver more Info.
If it is 1d19:1101 - then itīs the same ID like the Digivox.
( possible Hardwareerror ? )

If the ID differīs - then you got a new different Stick.

Greetings

Bernd

yes i know its new. i did give the guys from linuxtv the list of usb ids from my driver cd. i did also change the rtl2832u.h file to contain my usb id. after this the device was recognized but does not work. i hoped that if there is already a rtl2832u driver it will work with any device containing this chip but obviously it is a bit different from the others.
