dual monitor problem with xfce4 + fluxbox

Can anyone help please?

I have had my dual monitors working perfectly well on fluxbox 0.9.9, but I have now installed xfce4. Everything seems to be okay but only one monitor seems to work, the other just has the crosshatched background on it.

I can move my cursor on to it but cannot do anything with it. I have googled for quite a while but they all say configure X and it will then work... however my X is configured fine but only works properly for fluxbox. Is there something that i need to configure in xfce?

I have made my own xf86 config to use my dual monitors. I have a gefore ti4200 and a voodoo3. my TFT is on the GF4 and a CRT on my voodoo3...

Thanks for any help

My xf86config file is -

Hi,

I think you forgot:
Option "Xinerama" "On"

In the head of your XFconfig.

Mine looks like:

Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "XFree86 Configured"
Screen 0 "Screen0" 0 0
Screen 1 "Screen1" RightOf "Screen0"
InputDevice "Mouse0" "CorePointer"
InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard"
Option "Xinerama" "On"
EndSection

I think the XFce4 windowmanager gets confused,
becasue without xinerama, it
doesn't know if it is supposed to use both screens.

I'm using XFce4 with xinerama here at work without any probs.

(Xfce4 is the best to get work done :-)
