Dual-head with X: Second (VIA) Head Dead
I'm trying to set up a dual-head configuration in Slackware 11.0 2.6.17.13. I'm using a Nvidia Geforce FX 5200 as my primary and a Via Unichrome Pro IGP as the secondary.

Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/CID/, removing from list!
FreeFontPath: FPE "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing.
Near the end of the above log vesa died with "(EE) VESA(1): Cannot read V_BIOS". However, when I set the primary video device to AGP in CMOS (it has PCI and onboard settings, nvidia card is PCI and onboard just acts like PCI) it set the onboard device as primary. With my second display as primary I could start X with the above configuration... but only the second display worked, the nvidia driver gave me the same "Cannot read V_BIOS" error. (The vesa driver crashed the system once I tried to kill X, but that's another story.)
So, thanks in advance, and if there's any other info you need I'll be happy to provide it.
Edit to add: I did get a semi-functional dual display in a past Gentoo install on this machine. I believe I used some Via driver from somewhere (unichrome or openchrome or something), but I can't remember which one.
This are purely guesses, but if you're still stumped for what else to try ...
1) Near the V_BIOS error, it seems to be trying to access video memory. So I wonder how the BIOS is configured for video "shadow ram" ? Are there any BIOS settings that might help?
2) In the Xorg.conf file, do these drivers have options for VideoRAM that should be specified ?
3) Also, I notice for Screen1 your Xorg.conf file doesn't specify any resolution "Modes" in each subsection display ... try adding at least 1024x768 800x600 640x480 and see what happens.
