Double-headed (2 terminal) Mandrake System
I'd like to add a second monitor, mouse and keyboard to a Mandrake 10.1 system so a second user can use the machine simultaneously. Is this possible without going down the full-fledged thin-client route, and what additional hardware might be required?

Interesting question - not sure if thats possible. The only problem I can see is the keyboard and mouse focus, I wouldn't know how to assign one kb/mse to one user, and the other kb/mse to another user.
Unless someone's made a program out there to handle it, I imagine thin-client might be the only way to achieve it. |
It's been done before (way back with XFree86 version 3!). I don't know how things are now.
As for the "thin client" route, it is not that hard. I use it myself with a P150MMX/32MBram Toshiba laptop. To get you started: http://www.linuxplanet.com/linuxplan...orials/3100/1/ http://disjunkt.com/dualhead/ Yves. |
Looks like it's been done again! This time as a six-headed Mandrake 2006 system. The details are in the current (March 2006) tldp.org gazette:
