Don't want to use a keyboard - need a hack

I've an old box that I want to use as a headless server but it insists on having a keyboard plugged in before it will boot. There are no BIOS options to disable this behavior (Halt on error etc). Does anyone know of a way to use an old ps2 connector and wire it so that the box *thinks* a real keyboard is connected? I thought I read about that once somewhere..............

Take an old keyboard, and tear it open. Inside, you'll find a small circuit board that the PS2 cable plugs into. Wrap the small board (with the cable sticking out) with some non-conductive material and then slip it into an anti-static bag. You now have a "keyboard eliminator".

Or you can buy one for $50 from a KVM company. I don't know why they charge so much, when you can pick up an old keyboard for under a dollar.
