Does not detect my lan card during installation.

I have an onboard lan on the asus motherboard - a7n266-vm.
while i was installing redhat 9, it doesnt seem to detect my ethernet (i could tell because that part where you setup your network was skipped and went straight to firewall setting).
after finishing the installation, it will not show any eth() network connections when i did ifconfig.

any suggestions?

Have a look in your bios and see if you can disable plug'n'play - often helps with onboard stuff (also make sure the onboard lan is enabled).
